| Reverend Gary Brown, Pastor |
People were bringing little children to Jesus
to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he
was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and
do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you
the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child
will never enter it." and he took the children in his arms, put his
hands on them and blessed them.
Mark 10: 13-16.
Mission Statement
Great Beginnings Lutheran Preschool shall be distinctively Lutheran in its philosophy, curriculum, and staff. While evangelistic outreach is the primary purpose, it strives to assist in nurturing all children and parents in a Christ-centered environment.
A Distinctly Different Preschool
The Lutheran Church - Missouri
Synod, with which Resurrection Lutheran Church
is affiliated, is a confessional church. That is, we base our worship and study
on
the Word of God, publicly state what we believe and carry out those beliefs in
our lives
as Christians. Therefore, at Great Beginnings Lutheran Preschool, activities are
integrated with Christ-like values and intentional blending of Law and Gospel
Teachers strive to develop trusting, caring, and cooperative relationships
between children as well as among children and adults. They encourage acceptance
of each other as fellow children of God.
Children are taught to recognize sin and to celebrate God's grace and
forgiveness. Prayer, worship and singing are blended into the activities.
Children learn to see Jesus as their Savior and Friend both in the formal
teaching of Bible stories and the informal interactions among children and
adults.
Philosophy Statement
Great Beginnings Preschool is an integral part of the mission outreach of Resurrection Lutheran Church, which provides a valuable service to our members, and non-member participants of the preschool program. Great Beginnings Lutheran Preschool strives to assist parents in nurturing their children in the faith, while recognizing that the parents are the primary educators of their children. Both member and non-member parents are strongly encouraged to be actively involved in the activities of the preschool. Great Beginnings Preschool cultivates the spiritual, social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of each child in a warm and loving Christ-centered environment
Resurrection Lutheran Church and Great
Beginnings Lutheran Preschool admits students of any race, color, or national or
ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, and activities generally accorded
or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the
basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its
